Tekken Movie Spoilers, Rumors

Posted by Mr. Shrek on July 1st, 2008

Tekken is the latest video game to be adapted into a movie.

It’s due in theaters in 2009 and star Luke Goss (Hellboy II: The Golden Army) recently talked about the film’s plot:

Goss stars as fighter Steve Fox and told Firstshowing.net that his character appears 15 years after his prime time as one of the world’sbest fighters. Fox will duke it out in the movie, but never inside a ring.

Steve Fox goes from video game to big screen in Tekken.

Tekken’s story focuses on Heihachi Mishima (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa), the leader of a highly corrupt business under investigation of a murder. He announces a tournament to crown a “King Of Iron Fist” and plans to make the winner his personal bodyguard.

However, as the fighters assemble, they begin to realize they are linked together through more than just their interest in killing Mishima. Cue suspenseful music…

Eddie Murphy Won’t Rule Out Beverly Hills Cop 4

Posted by Mr. Shrek on July 1st, 2008

Beverly Hills Cop 4 could actually become a reality - but first Eddie Murphy wants to make sure the script is worthwhile.

“All I know is that it’s gonna be something that’s special. I’m not doing just, hey give me some big check and I go off [does the Foley laugh] and shoot the gun and jump over cars,” Murphy told MTV News. “Like, that’s some bullsh-t. If I do it, it’s gonna be some sh-t that’s right!”

Amen, Eddie!

Beverly Hills Cop 4 has been rumored to be in various stages of development for the last 14 years, ever since Beverly Hills Cop 3. Oops. We might not wanna mention that film in front of Murphy.

“I’ve been in a bunch of different meetings with people, ‘Oh, we have to take Axel this way.” I ain’t seen no script yet [but] I’m not rolling out ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ for it to be a continuation of ‘Beverly Hills Cop III,’ which was a crock of sh-t,” Murphy said. “I wanna do a good one!”

Will Murphy’s next comedy, Meet Dave, be a good one? Based on its previews, we’d have to say no.

“The Secret Life of Bees,” based on the bestselling novel, is set in the racially-charged South during the 1960s and follows a white girl (Dakota Fanning) who flees an abusive home with her African-American caregiver (after springing her from bigots at the local jail). Together, the two travel to the small South Carolina town where the secret behind her mother’s death lies buried.

During a recent visit to the set, we spoke with co-stars Jennifer Hudson (who plays the caregiver) and artist Alicia Keys, who plays a part in the film. The co-stars took a break from their busy schedules to talk about music and the pic, which also stars Queen Latifah and Paul Bettany.

A

Eddie MurphyFirst, the crappy sequel gods came for John McClane, and Eddie Murphy said nothing because he was not John McClane. Then they came for Indiana Jones, and Eddie Murphy said nothing because he was not Indiana Jones. Then they came for Axel Foley, and who was left to speak? Eddie friggin Murphy, that’s who!

You can read all about how and why “Beverly Hills Cop 4” is soon coming to a theater near you here, including Eddie’s thoughts on profanity, but in the meantime Mr. Murphy wants you to know one very important thing: he is not just running through the motions.

It’s a long time coming. “BHC4” has been rumored to be in various stages of development for the last 14 years, ever since “Beverly Hills Cop 3.” The time is finally right, Murphy said to put an exclamation point at the end of the franchise — so long as it can erase a little bit of what came before it.

Read more about “Beverly Hills Cop 4” here then let us know: Do you believe Murphy? Will “BHC 4” be a step in the right direction? And what do you make of his thoughts on profanity? Does it give you more or less reason to trust him? Sound off on all “BHC” related thoughts below!
