Alicia KeysWith questions resolved over who the latest eye candy would be, the final remaining piece of the puzzle concerned not who would be in the new James Bond movie, but who’d be singing over it. Now we have the answer.

The “Bond” filmmakers have revealed that R&B sensation Alicia Keys is teaming with White Stripes frontman Jack White on the theme song to the forthcoming “Quantum of Solace.” Titled “Another Way To Die,” the track will feature Keyes along with White, who pulls triple-duty as writer, producer and drummer on the collaboration that will mark the first duet in Bond history, according to the studio. The pair takes the mantle from Audioslave’s Chris Cornell, who performed music duties for 2006’s “Casino Royale.”

“Quantum of Solace” hits theaters on November 7.

Posted by Reel Movie Guy on July 29th, 2008

James Franco PhotographIn spite of recently announcing he was going back to school, James Franco has joined the cast of Mark Ruffalo's directorial debut Sympathy for Delicious.

Franco, who will appear in the latest Judd Apatow flick, Pineapple Express, in theaters next week, told MTV News that “Mark Ruffalo is gonna direct his first movie and he wants me to play a singer in a rock band."

According to James, Delicious is a DJ and "This DJ character was written for [Mark's] friend who’s actually paraplegic in real life, Chris Thornton, and he’s this DJ that has kind of a gift. He joins up with my band and then starts getting more attention than me, the lead singer. So I start getting upset about that.”

Sounds interesting.  Ruffalo has been trying to get his movie made since he announced it in 2004 while doing press for 13 Going on 30 but with the announcement of Franco joining the project, it may be closer to reality.

Posted by Reel Movie Guy on July 29th, 2008

Sam Raimi may be best known for his directorial role in the Spider-Man movies, but his dedicated Evil Dead fans will never forget where he got his start.

What impressed the director most at Comic Con?  According to MTV Movies, that people still dress up as Ash from Army of Darkness.

When asked if we'll see an Evil Dead 4, the director responded "Yes."  So what are we waiting on?

“If the financing ever fell in place right,” Raimi explained and then further taunting us, “But first, I’d have to work on the script with my brother [Ivan Raimi]. And that’s something I’m hoping to find the time to do.”
