Posted by MSN Entertainment: Top Celebrities on August 3rd, 2008
With just as much comic timing as beauty, "Rebecca Romijn-Stamos" made the transition from model to actress look easy. After a memorable stint on the NBC sitcom Just Shoot Me, she parlayed her previous small roles in "Dirty Work" (1998) and "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" (1999) into a full-fledged movie career.

Born on November 6, 1972, Romijn-Stamos is the daughter of a Dutch father and a Dutch-American mother. Her parents, a custom toy and furniture maker and an English as a Second Language... [more]

Christian Bale

"Christian Bale" is one of the few actors in Hollywood whose child stardom has successfully translated to steady and respectable adult employment. With a wistful handsomeness to complement his impressive, sometimes underrated talent, Bale has become something of a quiet sensation, netting choice roles in a number of unconventional, critically acclaimed films.

Born January 30, 1974, in Pembrokeshire, Wales, Bale was raised in England, Portugal, and the U.S. The product of a creative family (his mother was a... [more]

While landing a guest spot on a hit television series would be a welcome event for most up-and-coming actresses, "Jennifer Garner"'s brief run on "Felicity" proved especially fortunate for her -- thanks to her appearance on the show, she met her future husband, and the producer who would cast her in the leading role of the successful action/adventure series "Alias".

"Jennifer Garner" was born in Houston, TX, in 1972; when she was very young, her family relocated to Charleston, WV, where she grew up. Garner... [more]

With a mother who ran London's famed Lee Strasberg drama school -- and being the sort of knockout blonde beauty adored by the cameras -- it was not surprising that Sienna Miller eventually gravitated to an acting career. Born in New York to an American banker father and a mother who was always associated with the arts, young Miller received her primary education at the Heathfield School in Ascot, Surrey, before pursuing acting at New York's Lee Strasberg Institute. Her feature debut in the 2002 drama Joy Rider... [more]

Heath Ledger

Posted by MSN Entertainment: Top Celebrities on August 3rd, 2008
Already something of an established actor in his native Australia, "Heath Ledger" first came to the attention of American audiences in 1999 with his winning turn in the teen comedy "10 Things I Hate About You", playing the rebellious Patrick Verona in the update of The Taming of the Shrew.

Born in Perth, Western Australia on April 4, 1979, Ledger first became interested in acting while attending the all-boys Guilford Grammar School. He began his career performing onstage with the Guildford Theatre Company... [more]

New Batman Villain Rumors Circulate

Posted by Mr. Shrek on August 3rd, 2008

As The Dark Knight continues to shatter box office records, and Heath Ledger continues to garner Oscar buzz, rumors are already circulating about what big-name actors will take on the villainous roles in next Batman movie.

According to Great Britain's The Daily Telegraph, two new A-list stars are being talked about for a pair of iconic roles.

The paper, quoting "unnamed sources," reports that Warner Bros. has targeted Johnny Depp to play The Riddler and Philip Seymour Hoffman to take on the role of The Penguin.

"Producers are convinced that the role of The Riddler is perfect for Depp. Johnny's a pro. He'll be able to take direction and still make the character his own," the souce said. "And what better Penguin is there than Philip Seymour Hoffman?"

Are we looking at the next Batman baddies?

As film fans know, Jim Carey was the last actor to portray the Riddler (in Batman Forever), while Danny De Vito played the portly penguin in Batman Returns.

It's not hard to imagine Depp or Hoffman in these roles. But do you think the Batman franchise is in danger of its villains overshadowing its hero?
